Dr. Allison J. Batchelor is a fellowship-trained geriatrician and board-certified internist with nearly four decades of clinical experience dedicated to the primary care of older adults. She serves as an attending physician providing geriatric care with Marietta Memorial Hospital’s Department of Primary Care in Athens, Ohio, and maintains clinical affiliations with both Marietta Memorial Hospital and OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Batchelor serves as an Associate Professor of Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she has taught and mentored medical students and resident physicians for more than 25 years.

Dr. Batchelor earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio. She completed her internal medicine residency at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University Health, followed by specialized fellowship training in geriatric medicine at the University of Connecticut. A credentialed leader in post-acute care, she is a Certified Medical Director (CMD) through the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine and a Fellow of the American Medical Women’s Association (FAMWA). Her academic and research contributions have centered on long-term care management, advance directive implementation, and clinical predictors of outcomes in hospitalized and nursing home populations.

Dr. Carolyn Joy Sachs graduated from the honors program in medical education at Northwestern University in 1990 and then went on to completed an emergency medicine residency and research fellowship at the UCLA Emergency Medicine Center where she has stayed on ever since and currently serves in the rank of Clinical Professor step III. Her career research interests have centered on violence against women and she has authored many peer reviewed publications and book chapters on sexual assault and intimate partner violence.

For the last 23 years she has served as a chairwoman of the UCLA Intimate Partner Violence Committee. She serves as the voluntary medical director for a comprehensive forensic sexual assault examination program which provides over 1200 emergent sexual assault examinations to adults and children living in Southern California each year.

Dr. Sachs also a full time practicing academic emergency physician in the UCLA Emergency Department with an interest in physician well-being. She serves on the UCLA physician Health and Wellness committee and as the faculty advisor for the UCLA/OV Emergency Residency Wellness Committee. She has lectured nationally and internationally about intimate partner violence, sexual assault, provider well-being and other emergency medicine topics.

Sailing from this region without dedicating significant time to Manhattan is a missed opportunity of the highest order. Crafting Your New York Experience: A Strategic Approach - New York is not a city to be conquered; it is a city to be curated. Attempting to see everything results in exhaustion, not enrichment. The savvy approach is to focus on specific neighborhoods and themes, allowing for depth of experience rather than a checklist of drive-by sightings. The following three-day itinerary is designed to balance iconic landmarks with the authentic rhythm of city life.

Day 1: The Architectural & Theatrical Core - Begin your immersion in Midtown, the vertical heart of the city. While the Empire State Building is legendary, the strategic traveler heads to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center. The staggered viewing platforms here offer open-air experiences and, crucially, the best view *of* the Empire State Building itself, framed against the vast green rectangle of Central Park. TRIP CANCELLATION

Reimburses your prepaid, non-refundable travel expenses if you need to cancel your trip due to a covered reason, such as you, a family member, or traveling companion experiencing a covered illness or injury. Examples include:

A doctor says you or a traveling companion is too sick to fly
Your parent or child requires hospitalization
You need to attend the birth of a family member’s child
You have a traffic accident (not breakdown) on the way to the airport
A storm shuts down your airport for 24 hours or more

TRIP INTERRUPTION

Reimburses your unused, non-refundable travel expenses and increased transportation costs during your trip if you have to return home early due to a covered reason, for instance when a family member has a qualifying medical emergency and needs your care. Examples include:

You have a covered illness or injury and a doctor says you must return home
A family member has a qualifying injury and needs your care
A covered emergency, like a fire or flood, makes your home uninhabitable

TRAVEL DELAY

EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE
