Kevan Whipple, DPT, OCS
Dr. Whipple is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist in physical therapy. For several years Dr. Whipple has helped train physicians, physical therapists, nurses, residents and interns both in the United States and internationally. He has published in several journals, presented at multiple professional conferences and has a peer-reviewed book on prevention and treatment of back pain. Dr. Whipple is also adjunct faculty at the University of Utah. Dr. Whipple is recognized as an expert in orthopedic injuries, especially lower back disorders. He is known for providing expert consultation, evaluation and treatment for complicated back complaints, especially those that have not responded to standard interventions.

Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide two days of evidence-based treatment gems using the CLASSI Method®. This method was developed over several years utilizing research and clinical experience from around the world. Much of the best research that is transforming how back pain is treated is not even translated into English and is therefore seldom used in the United States. The CLASSI Method is a modern, evidence-based system that will provide results that no other method or stand-alone technique currently can. No matter if you are an advanced or novice clinician, you will learn multiple skills that are immediately usable in the clinic. More importantly, you will also learn how to use your current skills and techniques much more effectively because you will learn a sequential patient stratification system that will help you "get it right" every time. If you have been looking for an opportunity to be taught by an expert clinician in a way that will change the way you practice, this is one course you cannot afford to miss.

Essentially, you will learn a system that will empower you to effectively treat back pain from A-Z, regardless of your current training and skills. This includes effectively treating even the worst cases of lumbar, sacroiliac, sciatic nerve and coccyx pain. This course is not your typical, boring, lecturing continuing education course. The CLASSI Method® is fun! Especially as the light goes on in your head over and over again of all the patients you cannot wait to try this on. All materials presented are meant to be practical and immediately usable in the clinic. As a result, you practice! Of course there are portions that need to be presented by lecture, especially to discuss the research relevant to each portion of treatment. However, a significant portion of the course is hands-on. Come ready to learn skills that you can put to use right away. Beginner to expert clinicians will all learn treatment gems and an entirely new system that will dramatically improve their ability to treat back pain.

Course Objectives:
In this evidence based course, participants will learn the CLASSI Method® to appropriately stratify and treat patients with low back pain, from the lumbar region to the coccyx including:
- Get the "Telling Twelve" questionnaire for patients. In 3 minutes, both the provider and patient will have an accurate assessment of exactly what category of primary complaint the patient falls under.
- Be able to instantly match the most effective treatments to the patient's primary complaint category.
- Learn key evidence-based interventions shown to consistently have the best outcomes at any stage in the rehab process.
- Learn neuromotor sequencing exercises shown in European studies to permanently eliminate back pain in over 70% of patients, regardless of diagnosis, age or gender.
- Learn the evidence-based interventions shown to return herniated disc patients to full physical activity in one month or less on average.
- Learn several neurogenic inhibition techniques that will instantly decrease lumbar, sacroiliac, sciatic nerve and even coccyx pain.
- Consistently have confidence that you have all the necessary tools to get your patients better regardless of complexity or severity of their back pain.
