Faculty

Larry R. Glazerman, M.D., MBA

Dr. Galzerman completed medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA. In May 2010 he received an MBA in Healthcare Administration from DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA. He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and also certified in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy. His special expertise and interest is minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. In 2008, he relocated to Tampa, to help establish a program in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at University of South Florida's Carol and Frank Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare. He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, AAGL – Advancing Miminally Invasive Gynecology Worldwide, and the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy, where he served on the board of directors from 2008 - 2011. In 2011, he became director of an AAGL sponsored Minimally Invasive GYN Surgery Fellowship at USF.

Jerry G. Ninia, MD

Dr. Ninia is an OB/GYN physician who has maintained a separate practice in Phlebology since 1992. He teaches the Basic and Advanced Sclerotherapy courses for The National Procedures Institute as well as a course in Urodynamics. As a Fellow of the American College of Phlebology (ACP), he has lectured and published extensively on the topic of venous disease in the female patient and ultrasound in Phlebology. He has served on the Board of Directors of the College and as a member of the College Foundation Board. He is certified by ARDMS as a Registered Vascular Technologist and is Board Certified in OB/GYN as well as Phlebology. Dr. Ninia holds a faculty appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of OB/GYN at SUNY-Stony Brook School of Medicine and currently serves as the Director of the Department of OB/GYN at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY.

Program Purpose / Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Develop a cost-effective treatment plan for evaluating and treating hirsutism
  • Distinguish different types of urinary incontinence and describe medical and surgical treatments
  • Utilize appropriate diagnostic approaches to evaluate patients across the CVI spectrum
  • Identify evidence-based prevention and treatment methods for venous thromboembolic disease
  • Determine the role, if any, of herbal remedies in the contemporary case of female patients
  • Develop an efficient method to evaluate anemia in pregnancy
  • Describe various devices used in labor and delivery and discuss cost-effectiveness
  • Appreciate opportunities for addressing current problems in the US Healthcare system
  • Appropriately prescribe hormone replacement therapy to manage menopause symptoms
  • Identify causes of abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Identify the social, physical and emotional burden of genital warts and low-grade vulvar, vaginal, and cervical lesions
  • Utilize BRCA test results in the medical management of patients at increased risk of breast and/or ovarian cancer
  • Evaluate whether an association represents a causal link
  • Develop a simple, cost-effective method for diagnosing the various types of amenorrhea
