Todd R. Griffin, M.D., FACOG, Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Associate Professor, Fellowship Director – Minimally Invasive and Robotic GYN Surgery
Dr. Todd Griffin is the Chief Medical Officer of Stony Brook University Hospital. He assumed this position July 1, 2009. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Rochester, received
his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and continued his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SBUMC, completing a residency and chief residency. He went
on to serve as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy before returning to Stony Brook. He is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology and a member of numerous
national societies including the Society for Laparoscopic Surgeons, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Association of Professors in Gynecology and Obstetrics. Dr Griffin specializes in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gyn Surgery (MIS). He is a Former Residency Program Director and is currently the Fellowship Director for MIS. Dr.
Griffin has served as an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology since 2007. He has received a number of different local and national awards and he
was one of a team at SBUMC who received the prestigious Ellison Pierce Safety Award from the American Society of Anesthesiology for their work on Simulation for the Management of
Obstetrical Hemorrhage. He was also the recipient of Stony Brook University School of Medicine’s highest teaching award, the Aesculapius Award.
Dr. Griffin is dedicated to quality patient care, patient safety, and making Stony Brook a high reliability organization.

| Program Purpose / Objectives |
This seminar will review and update medical providers on selected topics which impact the female patient. Medical and technologic advances, as they pertain to the gynecologic patient, will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on common office problems, e.g. infertility, ovarian failure, stress urinary incontinence, uterine fibroids and endometriosis. The series will be clinically oriented, but will include basic pathophysiology as well as new technologic advances as they pertain to the gynecologic patient.
